“Where the beer flows like wine and the wine goes with everything”
Oso Market + Bar is an inspired mixed-use space in the SE Industrial neighborhood of Portland, OR. Oso is equal parts bottleshop, specialty market and neighborhood bar, featuring the best in sustainable and biodynamic wines, handcrafted beer and cider, enticing and exclusive grocery selections and delicious eats – all in a beautiful space to unwind in and enjoy.
Oso’s selection focuses on wines that exemplify the regions from which they were born: wines most often grown, fermented and bottled by winemakers that treasure the land and hold true to traditional practices in the cellar. Oso’s seasonally rotating taps and collection of bottled beers and ciders represent local and international breweries that push the envelope of creativity as well as champion classic styles and techniques. Oso’s curated market and skillfully paired bar menu created by Chef Steve Lohse, offer local and global foods to please any palette.
Locally owned and operated by husband and wife, Colin and Holly Howard, the idea for Oso was conceived while visiting markets throughout Europe, Istanbul and Shanghai. Both were looking to combine their love of food, wine and travel while making their mark on the Portland landscape. There are many great wines already filling Oso’s shelves, but it was a bottle of Les Palliéres Les Racines shared between some good friends last winter that really put Oso into motion. The space is designed to help folks find a favorite corner of the market or seat at the bar and enjoy the excitement of a newly discovered wine, beer, cheese or dish while taking in the energy of an open marketplace.
